Not So Simple...

"Help me, Obi Wan, you are my only hope."

Thus begins the grand mythical saga of our modern times, when Princess Leia's hologram message is accidentally triggered by Luke Skywalker when he is cleaning the robot R2-D2.

In the film, that message segment is only part of a complete whole message, which is itself a one-way distress call -, out to the Jedi Master 'old Ben Kenobi' aka Obi Wan Kenobi.

Now there is an archive recorded answer, you know, somewhere: 'Help you? Do what? Hurt someone?'
Everyone knows what this is...

The single biggest problem of engaging and interacting meaningfully with any seriously advanced intelligent non-Earth group, is that if we get to that position where we perceive ourselves as their friends (and not as imaginary 'fallen angels' and/or demonic entities...), and them as our special powerful friends that no one else on the planet has - is this 'essaying of retribution' potential thing that we are inclined to do.

No matter that it is rightful, righteous, 'just' - it is still us visiting retribution on our enemies when we have the power to do it. And this is better put as - 'because we have the power to do it, and, as soon as, we have the power to do it.'

So this means we really do believe that might conquers right.

But what's then the solution to injustice? Because we daily face injustice, a world of injustice, imbalances of power at every level of human society, personal, local, urban, trans-urban, economic, national and global - that is, in terms of the latter things: political.

See, in the movie, time has passed, and Obi Wan is only 'once a Jedi Knight...' His exact phrase is: 'I was once a Jedi Knight like your father.'
Just another human being...

As human beings we were once young and strong, and could run up and down the sides of walls with ease, and what we want to do, is, presuming say, that our own scientists discover some age reversing gene, or that some super advanced ET aliens turn up and befriend us with their longevity medicine and sciences - then we want to go back to the strength of our youth and also be provided with some cutting-edge weaponry in order to go wreak some havoc against our enemies in a very one-sided fashion.

According to the Islamic teachings - according to Islamic eschatology - the followers of the Evil Shaytan, literally the 'Deceiving Messiah,' although this has been turned into 'the Anti-Christ' (using the Christian narrative terminology) over time... ...the followers number 70,000 and they are Jews who wear the Persian shawl. And they make a great noise, fill the air with smoke that makes it hard to breathe, dance and cavort around, and they have a sign on their heads and wear the same sign on their hands and around their wrists, without which they cannot trade - and I'm not going to tell you what that sign is, because you will be extremely shocked, because, it isn't the mis-translation that people have been using for centuries. We have much better technology to read these manuscripts nowadays and our writing experts know more, and we know what that word actually reads.

Look it up if you don't believe me: Sahih Muslim 2944, Anar ibn Malik.

But back to 'Star Wars...'

Obi Wan becomes a master at this stage of the saga though, and not just a 'knight.'

The only thing you need to ask yourself is - who is Darth? Because he is also a Jedi, except he has 'gone over to the dark side.'

So, which one is 'the dark side?' Can you tell? Are you sure?

Obi Wan dies, you know, in the story. He doesn't suddenly magically become younger and wreak havoc on his enemies.

You have to pick a side. You have to be very certain of what you are thinking and what you are doing, 'moving forward,' as they say. Sure you can ask for help to make sure you've picked the right side, because the havoc that will be wreaked - will - be wreaked, is going to be a hell of a lot worse than you think.

This is about GOOD and EVIL. And we all know what that is, right?

  1. You're probably aware that "Jedi-ism" is an actual religion among a few followers of the Star Wars mythology. As professed by its adherents, The Force does not seem to be either good or evil, but encompasses, rather, all aspects of existence, light and dark. It is impersonal, like Buddhism or Taoism. But I suppose its Prophet could still be revered, through pilgrimages to USC Film School, or his birthplace of Modesto, California (heaven help us.)

Would any of it help us to commune with ET?
