This is an English expression, that means outmaneuvering an opponent or competitor. Some people think this is taken from the game of soccer, and refers to the idea that a player is using a a foot forward to advance the ball but this is not the most likely source.
The expression is from the game of cricket, and means that the player hitting the ball being delivered in to him fast, is yet stepping forward and attacking it. And this means he must place his 'front foot' down the pitch, stepping forward to be able to bring his bat down with a powerful centrifugal force, and hit directly into the flight of the in-coming ball.
Life itself is an opponent.
If it outmaneuvers you you are dead.

And sure sometimes you must step backwards and defend.
I asked a rhetorical question in an earlier piece here, namely whether or not the statement of Jesus of Nazareth about certain people not 'tasting death' before they witnessed the Kingdom of Heaven descending out of the clouds to them was a failed prediction.
No one answered.
Superficially, this is a 'failed prediction,' because no one has lived here all that time since the statement a couple of thousand years ago; no one 'has not died' - except maybe Count Dracula though even he started off his little adventure just six hundred years ago, not two thousand. So even the Count is not that old, really, when it comes down to it.
However the particular passages lead immediately to the account about a couple of disciples going up a mountain and seeing some kind of strange meeting between three people dressed in brightly shining white clothes, having appeared out of some clouds that came down, enveloping the scene.
We have just seen even the longest-reigning UK monarch last but 96 years.
That's not a whole lot (of years).
But hey hey, wait on just a minute!

What if though, really, some guys did see such a thing as described? As I was have said previously here as well - the Divine will not brook mortality to enter its genuine presence and remain as it was. The two things do not mix: ice cannot stay in a fire.
Either one overcomes the other or they may not remain together at all.
Because they are elementary forces, and qualities of ubiquitous being that affect all that is in them - material existence in the temporal world transitions continuously through its Gaussian profile; Eternity does not change at all.
If you go in to 'the cloud that descends,' you cannot come out of it...
That is to say, you cannot come out of it unchanged and in fact you will have changed completely.
The 'language of the birds' if it is the language of the spirit, exists outside of the Gaussian Curve. It is not about what is rational or reasonable going along the paradigm of what ebbs and flows in nature, what swells and reaches its peak and then dies.
Attempts at manufacturing some codified set of symbols or sounds supposed to be 'the language of the birds' or 'the green language,' that are temporal are sheerest nonsense and made-up things.
However you will indeed find that academia has set out all kinds of mythical nonsense and laid claim to having deciphered the code of la langue verte - producing much learned discussion and publishing books and academic texts saying what this language actually is, tying it to the coded writings of alchemists and also some of the songs and poetry of the troubadours during the so-called 'High Middle Ages.'
...Yet it is possible to slowly slip into that cloud.
Rustic bread and fish. No wine there... You have to bring the wine. |
Yes first though you have to find the cloud, the right kind - although the fact is, that you know yourself those pics they always take of the UAPs are all hazy, and surrounded, as it were by mist, fog or cloudiness.
What is there inside of that 'haziness' is a powerful fact. It does not brook argument by humans. And once you are inside it, inside whatever is behind the 'cloud,' you can see, will see, the meaning of all things, and the nature of real things versus those that are not real but only passing phantasms of the arrogant and mediocre human minds around you here in this world, on this planet, and at this time.
Unless you enter the cloud, you cannot know the language of the fluttering things. Which is the more accurate expression; not 'language of the birds.' : )
Some of you will already know what was just said there.
The human heart has the innate potential to be something important. By which is not meant simply the organ and its muscles and chambers that pump blood.
Where we are treading right now though, is on extremely mystical territory. We are entering into a mysterious place...
