Show, Don't Say

The saying is 'show, don't tell.' And it is applied to the subject of writing as you know.

Basically, the idea is that you don't simply tell in words that some main character feels a certain way -, but you show it through the range of acts and actions, maybe also some surrounding symbols which hint at various aspects and nuances, and narrative effects that make ready sense to people, and sometimes even that are outside of their usual experience too, but which their sensibilities may grasp through intimation and a resonance of their own feelings.

Only very rich people,
can afford something like this.

But right here in this piece and right now, we are not trying to practice creative writing (although this is going to form a key part of the subject being discussed), but outline ideas that will have some practical value and even some potential deep as well as current 'social/economic environment' meaning to all of you who come here regularly -.

And so what I also mean is that perhaps it is not a good idea to simply say - either in here or to people generally in your own daily lives - what it is you yourself can adduce from reading this here. And you will or ought to be able to understand what is being said, because you have already become familiar with a lot of the ideas that are regularly talked about in here - but that will probably not be all that easily grasped by any outsider, that is, someone who has not had that exposure already or necessary background as to what is going on.

We are living in a day and age, in which the economic concept of 'scaling up' has taken such hold of people's minds -, especially governments' thinking and planning too throughout the world, that in particular governments, because they have enabled this process of 'infinite debt creation' through the putative 'money supply' (which is actually not money but currency specifically) - the exclusive means to (seemingly) the 'making of money' (meaning 'profits') is to artificially inflate costs and prices of all economic targets (shares, real estate, factors of production) thereby blocking out, 'crowding-out' as some people call it, independent individual agents and leaving only the cartel banks, governments themselves, and their backed 'funds' to have access.

Feel, the Alcantara...

All of these big, or 'high-end' consumer luxury product manufacturers - think Ferrari, Hermes, Richemont (founded by a South African businessman Johann Rupert in 1988) in all of its guises, also Kering and LVMH, all of that sort of thing -, sell only to money 'leaking out' from the scale effect of infinite money printing. Consequently they themselves don't really make true sales, but are servicing criminal fraud at a large scale but they don't look at it that way, of course.

What I mean by saying they don't make true sales, is that they don't genuinely have rare or scarce items by natural exclusivity of design, manufacture, growth or creation of the actual items they have on offer - but they fabricate an artificial scarcity through themselves having privileged access to this 'infinite fiat' and so they have huge plants and expensive equipment none of which represents true rarity or craft luxury.

Their products are not really unique.

Instead they have high-end 'market placement' through 'product positioning' by design - literally of the structural fraud that they themselves participate in, of the infinite money printing scam against the ordinary citizen taxpayer, to the so-called 'elite' few.

But these people are not smart.

Le Procope in Paris.
Voltaire, I believe,
went there a lot, and
wrote there too.

They are organized and they are criminal-minded (even though they will never admit it publicly), and that is all they are.

And then, the hugest gap in their own mindset, the absolute complete flaw in their whole personae - is that they are all greedy and envious people inside.

So they crawl after genuine authentic rarity, exclusivity, true organic uniqueness and worth.

...Sometimes it is better to just let things slowly unfold, and then, when things 'are there,' have appeared, as it were, have already actually become existential realities - it is all too late for the idiots to try and cram their fake money schemes into the spokes of the turning wheels.

My friends, we are living in a true Dark Ages.

Of this there can be no doubt.

Many, some say most if not indeed all, students in today's Harvard Literature classes - are illiterate. And they will stay that way. I noticed one of the online reviewers (I think 'Liza Libes?') of modern literature, just this week howling about how pathetic this year's Booker Prize List was, and how it once again was replete with 'post-industrial,' 'anti-oppressive,' 'post-modern/post-feminist feminist' titles and subjects and themes.

She went on to 'joke' (she wasn't finding it funny though) that she overheard a conversation between a girl with beetroot-dyed hair and a girl with green hair in a Barnes & Noble, in which one had said that 'Of Mice And Men' was racist... Against the mice, presumably.

But we cannot ourselves here just denounce things -, endlessly criticize and critique.

We must act. And we must do.

'Endlessly criticizing' is more or less the same thing as 'endlessly printing (fake) money.'

...And by and by, when things are already too late and the shining horses of King Augeas too far gone from their golden stables to be called back in, then we can 'understand' in the perfect vision of hindsight, what just transpired in here.

The house where Petrarch
lived.

Oh my rich Elites! What wonders are these shining horses of the great King Augeas! And how richly disporting they are, in their fields of lushness and verdure.

But to put one simple bridle onto one of them, and to call it your very own, and you will be lauded throughout the world as a true sage and a person of distinct wealth and glory.

Far be it from me! (...a verbal Anabasis as you know) To talk price among kings -.

But to keep it extremely simple for those of you who, like me, require much explanation all of the time (I do! Trust me; I do) - I would not hesitate to go acquire thee of a small volume of empty pages. And do thou fill thee, a small and modest quill for thyself to have.

Just this week I was mildly humored by a sudden flurry of interest in something I had completely forgotten - had totally erased from the front shelves of my tiny little mind - with a whole bunch of curious people asking: 'Is this true??'

I believe Napoleon was
defeated, in this year - 1805.

Well heck I don't know! I had to go read the thing myself just to acquaint myself with it at all!

Or 'again,' maybe; I don't know. I don't remember where it even came from...

This thing: Movie Not To Be Seen For 100 Years leaked script

LOL

It was quite funny.

Seemed so to me, anyway.

I almost fancy that at the time, I edited out some name 'Jason Arday' out of the thing.

Because I had no idea as to the meaning.

  1. Gee I hope 'Amanda' from here is all right. She was heading off for Mount Kailash this month... Not good.

    1. Phew. All okay. Well, not for those caught in the huge ice slide.

  2. I’m glad Amanda is OK. It must be hellish for the families of the missing or perished. Loss of that nature truly sucks.

I’ve got a product idea milling around my head and don’t know the first thing about bringing those ideas to life. I’m not business oriented as far as my past goes. So don’t know how I would proceed and also how to block my thoughts from ‘remote readers’, lol. I’m making excuses in my mind about how nothing is accessible in this tiny country of mine. So my thinking is small :(

It comes at a time when husband is potentially being made redundant and I have to pick up the slack and bring in some money. I left my I.T career and haven’t had a job for about decade and I’m in my 50s now, so I am scared about my future trajectory. It’s gonna have to be a case of ‘do it scared’ because my Monad seems to be withholding the lotto win!

    1. 'That strength, that drive, that determination, that will to succeed...' ...I don't even know who said that anymore! LOL There IS only 'doing it scared.' There is no other method. 1. You have to allow yourself the right to fail. 2. Failure is not an option - find some (other) way to win, to prevail, to drive to the top, to go around obstacles. 3. There is no such thing as the right or the best time to try - the conditions are always the same: BAD.

  3. So much of real actual profitable and sales-driven business - is ALL ABOUT THE FEELING. People buy on emotional need, not practical value or function. 'IF' there is a practical function, well that is a bonus. Underlying the surface pretense of all (human) people's life, is the certain knowledge that they will all die sooner or later, and that what is going on NOW, how they are feeling NOW, matters more than anything else - this despite any lies they will tell you; especially about what they 'believe.' Most even KNOW they 'believe' sheer utter nonsense and they still go on 'doing' it. But it's not how they FEEL, inside. And so, they ACT on a very different basis to what they claim they will act on account of.

    1. That makes a world of sense. I know I operate that way. The idea I have has utility but I want to make it more adopted by making it fun.
Thank you for being encouraging. I find there’s not even a lot of that around today
